About the Role
This opportunity is for a Data Scientist focused on advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and descriptive statistical modeling across large-scale blockchain and financial datasets. The role analyzes billions of blockchain wallets and tens of billions of transactions to generate actionable insights, improve data-driven decision-making, and identify product and growth opportunities.
The position combines statistical modeling with hands-on data engineering responsibilities, including model deployment, data pipelines, ETL, distributed data warehouses, and data orchestration. Strong Python and SQL skills are required, along with experience working with blockchain data, APIs, cloud platforms, and scalable analytics infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Build predictive and descriptive statistical models using financial data, including Lifetime Value (LTV).
- Develop and refine models that analyze large-scale blockchain wallet and transaction data to produce actionable insights.
- Deploy and maintain models, production code, and data pipelines supporting customer-facing applications.
- Work closely with engineers and product teams to develop models that support data-driven decisions.
- Use analytical findings to enhance product capabilities and identify new growth opportunities.
- Optimize models for performance and cost within distributed data warehouses.
- Conduct data mining on public datasets to identify patterns and extract actionable insights.
- Manage ETL connectors to maintain reliable data flow across systems.
- Guide the development of data visualizations that communicate analytical findings in an intuitive and accessible way.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Proficiency in building predictive and descriptive models using financial and blockchain data.
- Experience with distributed data warehouses and processing technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark, including model optimization for performance and cost.
- Experience using dbt (Data Build Tool) to transform data within data warehouses.
- Expertise in data mining and managing ETL processes.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data orchestration frameworks such as Dagster, Luigi, or Prefect and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and databases such as Postgres and Redis.
- Ability to develop and deploy customer-facing applications and data visualizations.
- Ability to work with data at scale and reason beyond individual record-level analysis.
- Fundamental understanding of blockchain protocol mechanisms and comfort working with APIs and raw blockchain queries.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with significant autonomy in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in blockchain or fintech.
- Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
