About the Role
This opportunity is for an HR Generalist responsible for day-to-day HR operations, benefits administration, employee lifecycle support, HRIS data management, leave administration, compliance activities, and employee HR support. The role manages onboarding and offboarding, employee changes, benefits enrollment, leave processes, employee records, and routine HR questions while helping maintain accurate and audit-ready HR data.
The position also supports recruiting coordination for approximately 15% of the role, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, offer documentation, background checks, and applicant tracking. The successful candidate will work with Rippling, benefits carrier portals, an applicant tracking system, employees, benefits brokers, insurance carriers, recruiters, and internal operational partners.
What You'll Do
HR Operations- Manage onboarding and offboarding from end to end, including employee data entry, systems setup, coordination with IT and facilities, and exit logistics.
- Maintain accurate employee records in Rippling and conduct regular audits to support HRIS data integrity.
- Process employee changes in Rippling, including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, processes, benefits, and general HR matters.
- Support HR and benefits compliance activities, including I-9 documentation, required postings, Form 5500 filings, EEO reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, state leave, and ADA accommodations, from initial request through return to work under People & Experience leadership direction while building proficiency in the role.
- Support open enrollment through employee communications, benefits election troubleshooting, and post-transmission file audits.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions involving medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and other benefit programs.
- Manage benefits enrollments and terminations in carrier portals and reconcile benefit records against Rippling data.
- Work with benefits brokers and insurance carriers on escalations and plan administration issues, escalating complex leave and benefits matters to People & Experience leadership when needed.
- Open and post positions in the applicant tracking system.
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications throughout the recruiting process.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruiting status updates.
- Support recruiting activities involving offer letters, pre-employment documentation, and new-hire paperwork.
- Initiate background checks and follow up on identified discrepancies.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in HR generalist and/or benefits administration work.
Required Skills
- Comfort working in an HRIS and benefits carrier portals, with strong attention to accuracy when managing employee data.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave requirements.
- Ability to manage onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, HR records, benefits administration, and routine HR operational processes.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a small-team environment.
- Clear and empathetic communication skills for explaining HR policies, benefits, and processes to employees who are not HR specialists.
- Ability to support recruiting coordination activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, applicant tracking, offer documentation, and background checks.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
