About the Role
This opportunity is for a QA Manager, Live Operations to lead and develop a distributed quality assurance team supporting a live AAA mobile game. The role focuses on scalable QA practices, product quality, release excellence, operational performance, and continuous improvement throughout live game operations and the development lifecycle.
The position works closely with engineering, live operations, marketing, customer support, development, localization, and external QA teams. Key areas include QA methodologies and frameworks, software testing, release and deployment processes, quality metrics, bug tracking, test planning, change management, and building quality practices that can scale with a growing live title.
What You'll Do
- Manage, mentor, and support the professional growth and development of a distributed QA team.
- Build on existing team metrics to measure product quality and operational excellence.
- Advocate for quality and promote continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Communicate quality issues, risks, concerns, and successes clearly to stakeholders, partners, and executives.
- Build strong working relationships across internal and external development, QA, and localization teams.
- Partner with team leads to develop effective plans, assignments, and schedules for quality-related activities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve QA, release, and deployment processes.
- Promote QA and release excellence across teams and functions.
- Help establish scalable quality practices that support the continued growth of the live game title.
- Partner closely with engineering, live operations, marketing, and customer support teams to support product quality and successful live operations.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in quality assurance.
- 2+ years of management experience across the full game development lifecycle.
- Proven experience supporting a live mobile game with a large and active player base.
- Experience embedding QA practices within multidisciplinary development teams.
- Experience in live operations and working with Marketing, Customer Service, and Live Support teams.
- Experience building and leading distributed or remote teams.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Strong knowledge of software testing, QA processes, software development, change management, and process improvement.
- Proficiency with bug-tracking systems and test-plan management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence teams toward exceptional product quality.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in mobile free-to-play or core gaming environments.
- Familiarity with release management, automation, and quality metrics.
