About the Role
This Frontend Engineer position focuses on building performant, accessible, and reliable web applications using React and TypeScript. The role involves translating clinical workflows into intuitive user interfaces, designing reusable frontend components, and developing application architecture that supports consistent functionality across multiple facilities and shared devices. Key priorities include frontend performance, usability, and reliable data capture in environments with inconsistent network connectivity.
The position requires hands-on experience with production React applications, TypeScript, frontend architecture, and modern web development practices. Responsibilities include implementing offline-first functionality, managing application state, and creating dependable submission workflows that prevent lost or duplicate entries. The frontend technology stack includes React, Vite, and Radix, with an emphasis on maintainable components, responsive application behavior, and practical technical decisions that support rapid product delivery.
What You'll Do
- Translate clinical workflows into intuitive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces that function across facility networks and shared devices.
- Develop and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript, with a focus on usability, reliability, and application performance.
- Implement resilient offline-first functionality that enables data capture when facility network connectivity is limited or unavailable.
- Build reliable submission queues that prevent data loss and duplicate entries during synchronization and submission.
- Design reusable frontend frameworks and shared UI components that allow other developers to concentrate on clinical workflow functionality.
- Make frontend architecture decisions involving component structure, state management, and application performance.
- Optimize web application performance, accessibility, usability, and reliability across supported devices and network conditions.
- Translate product requirements into clearly scoped technical implementations that can be delivered within days.
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs and communicate implementation decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Professional experience building and shipping production web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Experience owning frontend architecture decisions and implementing maintainable application structures.
- Experience delivering offline-first or real-time interfaces, including an understanding of their technical limitations and failure scenarios.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of modern frontend development, including component architecture, reusable UI components, and state management.
- Ability to optimize web applications for performance, usability, and reliability.
- Practical knowledge of developing resilient interfaces that maintain functionality under challenging network conditions.
- Ability to translate product requirements into scoped technical implementations and deliver working functionality within short development cycles.
- Ability to evaluate implementation tradeoffs and explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Product design experience supported by a portfolio of shipped user interfaces.
- Experience developing interfaces with cross-device and cross-browser compatibility, including mobile web.
Technology Stack
- Frontend: React, Vite, Radix.
- Backend: TypeScript, Node, NestJS.
- Data: PostgreSQL with row-level security, Prisma, pgvector.
- Infrastructure: AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, SNS/SQS, Bedrock), Terraform.
