Project Manager with IRS MBI Clearance

Compensation:
$130,000 – $135,000 per year.
About the Role
This opportunity is for an experienced Project Manager to lead technical initiatives that support business operations, transformation efforts, and client-facing delivery. The role focuses on managing project scope, timelines, budgets, documentation, and stakeholder communication across the full project lifecycle. This position is fully remote and may require travel up to 50%.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage assigned technology projects that support transformation initiatives, business operations, and external client needs
- Direct and oversee the implementation and full lifecycle of small to medium-sized projects, or contribute as part of a project management team on complex programs
- Work closely with IT engineering teams, IT leadership, business owners, clients, and partners to support timely delivery and stakeholder alignment
- Maintain responsibility for approved schedules, project execution, and contractual delivery requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams, project and program leadership, business stakeholders, and external clients
- Manage day-to-day tasks for internal and vendor-supported project team members
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure accurate and timely implementations
- Assist with project budgets, staffing resources, and schedule management
- Perform quality control and support quality assurance across project deliverables
- Prepare and submit project status reports and related updates to the PMO and other stakeholders
- Ensure delivery of project lifecycle documentation, including project plans, installation plans, standard operating procedures, systems design documents, configuration management plans, release management plans, and risk management plans
- Track project costs, schedules, and performance metrics, and take corrective actions when needed to maintain budget, schedule, and quality goals
- Apply project management lifecycle and systems development lifecycle methodologies throughout delivery
- Contribute to internal project standards and documentation repositories
- Support proposal development and related project input
- Travel as needed, up to 50%
- Perform additional project-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 5 years of project management experience
- PMP or CSM certification is required
- Experience with project methodologies such as Agile, DevOps, PMP, and ITIL v4
- Working knowledge of project management and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneNote
- Experience leading technical projects in IRS environments
- Experience supporting mixed technology environments including Windows, Unix, Linux, and Solaris
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing staff, processes, deadlines, budgets, revenue, and profitability
- Ability to lead technical projects across multiple functional, technical, and knowledge domains
- Active MBI clearance with IRS is required
