Maintenance Technician

Pay: ~ $35/hour
Role overview
You will handle day-to-day building, mechanical, and basic plumbing work to keep the facility safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. This is a hands-on position that requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently across a large healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including basic plumbing and mechanical components.
- Replace plumbing fixtures, rebuild flush valves, rod drains and pipes, and stop leaks.
- Adjust and monitor the building automation system for patient and staff comfort.
- Test and inspect generators and emergency power equipment.
- Replace light fixtures and bulbs, ceiling tiles, and address general building issues.
- Use drawings, wiring diagrams, and O&M manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Coordinate specialized work with outside vendors and contractors when needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on emergency lighting, ice machines, refrigerators, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Conduct routine building and mechanical room inspections per the maintenance program.
- Complete work orders, documentation, and follow company safety and compliance standards.
What you bring
- Some years of experience as a maintenance worker or maintenance technician
- Strong troubleshooting and follow-up skills for maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read and work from drawings, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with building automation systems.
- Experience with computerized work order systems is preferred.
- Ability to work a first shift schedule (7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday) and handle maintenance needs as assigned.
