Position Overview
This opportunity is for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a team of senior-level accounting professionals in a remote, multi-client environment. This role combines technical accounting expertise, team leadership, and process optimization to ensure high-quality financial operations and an excellent client experience.
The position focuses on managing accounting workflows, mentoring team members, and continuously improving systems and processes in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

$95,000 - $115,000 per year
What You’ll Do
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the performance and deliverables of Senior Accounting Specialists, ensuring accuracy in month-end close, reporting, and advanced accounting functions.
- Review client books regularly and validate transitions from initial setup or catch-up work to ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure proper scoping, data accuracy, and smooth handoffs across accounting workflows.
- Develop, document, and continuously refine SOPs and workflows aligned with an automation-first approach.
People Development & Mentoring
- Mentor team members in accrual accounting, job costing, inventory management, and class/location reporting.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide structured feedback, and support professional development.
- Create clear career growth paths and help develop future leaders within the team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
Client & Process Management
- Act as an escalation point for complex client issues and participate in key client meetings when needed.
- Ensure clients consistently receive accurate reporting, professional communication, and actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve system integrations, and scale best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across accounting operations and client delivery.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license is required.
- 7+ years of accounting experience (small business or firm-based preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience supervising or mentoring accounting professionals.
- Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online, including complex workflows and third-party integrations.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, GAAP, job costing, inventory accounting, and class/location reporting.
- Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and maintain high-quality standards.
