About the Role
This opportunity is for a senior-level network engineering professional responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing enterprise networking infrastructure across distributed, cloud, and mission-critical environments.
The role supports corporate operations, remote workforce connectivity, cloud networking, network security, and globally distributed infrastructure. This position partners closely with IT, Security, DevSecOps, Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity across all operational environments.
The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in enterprise networking, cloud architecture, network security, Zero Trust principles, and infrastructure automation while maintaining a strong focus on performance, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence.
Status: Full Time
Salary: $130,000 - $180,000 per year
What You'll Do
- Own the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise network architecture across on-premises, cloud, and distributed environments.
- Lead Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) strategy and implementation using Zscaler technologies, including ZIA and ZPA.
- Design network policies, segmentation strategies, and access control frameworks to support secure business operations.
- Manage and optimize secure remote access infrastructure, including MDM platforms, endpoint management solutions, and distributed workforce connectivity.
- Support the design, deployment, and security hardening of networking infrastructure supporting global sensor and operational environments.
- Partner with DevSecOps teams on AWS networking architecture, including VPC design, routing, peering, and secure connectivity solutions.
- Administer and secure DNS infrastructure, including internal and external resolution, filtering, redundancy, and resilience.
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure wired and wireless office networking environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for network provisioning, configuration management, and deployment automation.
- Ensure networking environments comply with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and other applicable security and compliance frameworks.
- Support domestic and international networking requirements, including data sovereignty and regulatory considerations.
- Monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to network-related security threats and incidents in partnership with security teams.
- Continuously improve network performance, reliability, availability, scalability, and security posture.
- Create and maintain detailed network architecture documentation, technical standards, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on network engineering initiatives and infrastructure improvements.
- Perform additional networking and infrastructure-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- Strong expertise in enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPN technologies, and DNS.
- Hands-on experience with Zero Trust networking architectures and Zscaler technologies, including ZIA and ZPA.
- Experience supporting cloud networking environments, particularly AWS.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud networking environments is preferred.
- Strong experience supporting distributed workforce and remote connectivity solutions.
- Deep understanding of network security principles, threat detection methodologies, and incident response practices.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, and comparable regulatory or compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of international networking requirements, global connectivity challenges, and regulatory constraints.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent networking credentials are strongly preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Strong ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure networking solutions.
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience securing mission-critical, operational technology, or highly available infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, or national security-related organizations.
- Experience designing and operating resilient global network architectures.
- Experience partnering closely with DevSecOps, Security, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams.
- Experience working within CMMC-regulated or other highly regulated environments.
- Strong background in enterprise-scale network security and compliance programs.

This role supports a fully remote work model and collaborates with technical teams across multiple business functions. The position focuses on building and maintaining secure, highly available networking infrastructure that supports distributed operations, cloud environments, remote workforce connectivity, and mission-critical systems.
