About the Role
A Product Specialist - Fire Prevention is needed to support Fire & Life Safety agencies across the United States with the implementation and optimization of Fire Prevention software modules. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy, customer-focused fire prevention subject matter expert who understands the regulatory, operational, and compliance requirements that govern fire prevention programs in the United States.
In this position, you will help agencies configure and improve workflows related to inspections, permitting, invoicing, online payments, fire investigation, and ITM compliance tracking. You will work closely with customers, implementation teams, and product teams to deliver effective solutions, support successful launches, and help improve the platform based on real customer needs.

What You’ll Do
- Act as an Implementation Product Specialist for Fire Prevention modules used by Fire & Life Safety agencies in the United States.
- Work directly with new customers to configure and optimize Fire Prevention workflows, including inspections, permitting, invoicing, online payments, fire investigation, and ITM compliance tracking.
- Partner with Implementation Project Managers to successfully implement and launch software for Fire & Life Safety agencies of different sizes and levels of complexity.
- Configure inspection programs aligned with International Fire Code (IFC), NFPA standards, ICC codes, and applicable state and local fire code adoptions.
- Configure permitting workflows, including construction permits, operational permits, system permits, and special event permits.
- Implement fee schedules, invoice structures, penalties, and online payment integrations that align with municipal finance practices.
- Configure ITM workflows, including contractor submissions, deficiency tracking, impairment documentation, and compliance verification.
- Support the configuration of fire investigation workflows, including documentation, reporting, and integration with NFIRS or NERIS where applicable.
- Stay current on module functionality, configuration options, and evolving U.S. regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance on applicable codes and standards to customers and the Product Management team.
- Maintain a strong understanding of features being developed in current and future sprints, as well as the Fire Prevention product roadmap.
- Document product gaps identified during implementation and collaborate with Product Management to develop scalable solutions, especially for compliance-related or AHJ-specific workflows.
- Participate in regional and national user group meetings, conferences, and industry events, both virtually and in person.
Qualifications
- Direct experience in U.S. Fire Prevention operations, such as Fire Inspector, Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal, Fire Prevention Officer, or a similar role, is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of International Fire Code (IFC), NFPA standards, ICC codes, and common U.S. fire code enforcement models.
- Familiarity with fire inspection programs, including annual inspections, re-inspections, complaint inspections, new construction inspections, and special event inspections.
- Experience administering permitting programs, construction permits, operational permits, and related fee schedules.
- Working knowledge of ITM compliance programs, contractor reporting, deficiency management, and impairment tracking.
- Familiarity with municipal invoicing processes and public-sector online payment systems.
- Experience implementing SaaS platforms, including customer onboarding, configuration, and go-live support, is preferred.
- Experience with public safety software platforms or government permitting systems is preferred.
- Ability to understand customer requests, identify the desired end state, and provide a clear, efficient path to the best solution.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to train and present to users with different technical backgrounds.
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple customer implementations at the same time.
