About the Role
This opportunity is for a Research Manager to lead the scientific evidence standard across protocols, products, supplements, devices, therapeutics, ingredients, diagnostics, and health-related interventions. The role is responsible for determining what should be adopted, rejected, or monitored based on rigorous scientific review, structured evidence evaluation, and clear risk assessment.
This position works cross-functionally with teams focused on longevity practice, partnerships, product research and development, prescription longevity medicine, and biomarker lab testing. The Research Manager will help evaluate products and protocols, assess prospective collaborators, guide ingredient and formulation decisions, support therapeutic selection, and contribute to optimized lab panel development.
The role operates in a fast-moving, science-driven environment where decisions must be evidence-based, clearly documented, and understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Research Manager will work alongside current research leadership and help set the scientific standard used for critical decisions across the organization.
Employment Type: Full Time
Compensation: $95,000 - $165,000 per year
What You’ll Do
- Own the evidence standard for protocols, products, ingredients, supplements, devices, therapeutics, and interventions across multiple business areas.
- Adopt, reject, or monitor protocols, products, ingredients, and interventions with a clear, defensible scientific rationale.
- Lead structured scientific reviews of new products, therapeutics, formulations, and protocols submitted by internal teams.
- Prepare written justifications and risk assessments that clearly explain the scientific reasoning behind each recommendation.
- Partner with business development, operations, product, clinical, and research stakeholders to prioritize research needs, balance company-wide demand, and support final clinical sign-off.
- Define and continuously improve the scientific standards used by an actively developed AI research engine.
- Calibrate AI-generated research scores against expert scientific reviews and judgment.
- Stay current on scientific literature related to longevity, metabolic health, pharma, women’s health, nutrition science, diagnostics, and home-health innovation.
- Identify emerging evidence that may require changes to product, protocol, clinical, diagnostic, or research recommendations.
- Mentor team members on how to evaluate scientific evidence and communicate findings in clear, accessible language.
Qualifications
- PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant biomedical, clinical, life sciences, or related scientific field.
- 5+ years of experience evaluating clinical and pre-clinical evidence in academic, industry, or clinical research settings.
- Demonstrated ability to make and defend adopt, reject, or monitor decisions related to therapeutics, supplements, ingredients, medical devices, or similar health-related interventions.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, structured evidence reviews that non-scientific stakeholders can understand and act on.
- Ability to work with high autonomy in a fast-paced startup-style environment.
- Comfortable working with direct exposure to founders, senior stakeholders, and multiple teams with competing priorities.
- Ability to balance scientific rigor with practical business, product, clinical, and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in longevity, metabolic health, women’s health, nutrition science, supplement formulation, food formulation, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical research and development.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted or LLM-assisted research tools and experience calibrating automated outputs against expert scientific judgment.
- Clinical practice exposure or experience working closely with practicing physicians.
- Experience serving as a horizontal scientific function supporting multiple business units or cross-functional teams.
- Published peer-reviewed work in a relevant scientific, biomedical, clinical, or life sciences domain.
