About the Role
This role focuses on designing intuitive user experiences for highly complex, business-critical workflows within a modern AI-powered software platform. You will own a core product area from discovery through delivery, partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering to create scalable, user-centered solutions that simplify sophisticated processes.
The position combines product strategy, user research, interaction design, information architecture, design systems, and AI-native experience design. Success in this role requires balancing exceptional design quality with practical execution while delivering experiences that users can trust for mission-critical work.
What You'll Do
Product Design & Ownership
- Own end-to-end design for a core product area, from early discovery through high-fidelity design, implementation, and continuous iteration.
- Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Drive design decisions that improve usability, efficiency, and overall customer experience.
- Ensure delivered solutions accurately reflect the intended design vision.
User Research & Discovery
- Lead customer discovery sessions to better understand user needs and business workflows.
- Conduct usability testing and gather qualitative feedback to validate product decisions.
- Analyze complex workflows and translate research findings into practical design improvements.
- Use customer insights to influence product direction and feature development.
User Experience & Interaction Design
- Design intuitive user experiences for complex interaction models, including multi-step automation workflows.
- Create interfaces for AI-generated content, high-volume data tables, and decision-support experiences.
- Design AI-native interactions, including uncertainty states, user intervention controls, streaming content, and resilient error handling.
- Develop clear information architecture and thoughtful interaction patterns that simplify complex systems.
- Deliver polished, high-fidelity interface designs using Figma.
Design Systems & Accessibility
- Build, maintain, and improve Figma component libraries and reusable design system assets.
- Create scalable visual standards that support long-term product consistency.
- Promote accessibility best practices, including WCAG compliance, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and inclusive interaction design.
- Balance design quality with development speed by making thoughtful implementation trade-offs.
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design, interaction design, and complex workflow solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma, including variables, Auto Layout, variants, prototyping, and component libraries.
- Experience designing AI-native user experiences involving probabilistic outputs and intelligent workflows.
- Strong experience designing data-heavy user interfaces, including tables, filtering, sorting, bulk actions, and information-rich layouts.
- Ability to conduct user interviews, synthesize qualitative research, and translate findings into product improvements.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines, ARIA, color contrast, and motion sensitivity.
- Experience creating or contributing to scalable design systems and reusable component architecture.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to communicate design rationale and influence product decisions.
- Excellent visual design skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
