About the Role
This opportunity is for a Digital Specialist who will support client-facing digital fundraising and communications programs for political campaigns, PACs, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, and mission-driven clients.
The role combines account support, email and text message production, quality assurance, CRM execution, campaign planning, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations. The Digital Specialist may occasionally take full ownership of assigned client accounts with limited manager oversight and will help ensure that digital programs are accurate, timely, relevant, and aligned with client goals.
What You’ll Do
Account Ownership and Client Support
- Occasionally take full ownership of assigned accounts with limited oversight from a manager.
- Draft client agendas and prepare materials for client meetings.
- Run client calls when needed.
- Lead projections, calendars, and planning support for assigned accounts.
- Provide feedback on email and text message content.
- Support managers on additional accounts as needed.
Email, Texting, and CRM Production
- Lead the email production and quality assurance process for assigned accounts.
- Lead checklist and loading training across CRM platforms.
- Draft and edit email and text message copy.
- Load emails and text messages as needed.
- Review email and text samples and provide creative and strategic edits to associates on their loads.
Quality Assurance
- Quality check emails and text messages for copy edits, mobile formatting, links, sourcing conventions, and targeting accuracy.
- Help train email and texting staff on quality assurance standards and best practices for segmentation, drafting, and loading across platforms.
- Ensure common error areas are reviewed carefully, including missing punctuation, incorrect links, sourcing errors, incorrect names, and missed edits from managers, partners, or clients.
Performance Strategy and Optimization
- Analyze overall program performance and recommend strategies to meet and exceed client goals.
- Ensure outbound topics for client programs are effective, relevant, mission-oriented, and aligned with performance goals.
- Optimize ActBlue landing pages and backend landing pages through A/B testing, including copy, branding, and new strategic approaches.
- Help associates and strategists respond quickly to major news moments and rapid-response opportunities.
Planning and Preparedness
- Help lead planning meetings with knowledge of email and text performance, content ideas, and strategic recommendations.
- Contribute ideas that help client programs reach or exceed fundraising and communications goals.
- Help ensure client programs are prepared for future events, including anniversaries, debates, conventions, and other major public moments.
Qualifications
- Passion for mission-driven causes, candidates, advocacy work, or similar public-interest efforts.
- 3-6 years of professional experience.
- At least one campaign cycle of experience in a dedicated email fundraising role.
- Client-facing project management experience.
- Experience managing multiple clients or multiple workstreams at the same time.
- Familiarity with P2P texting platforms and/or broadcast texting platforms.
- Experience using at least one email CRM, such as NGP, EveryAction, ActionKit, or Acoustic.
- Experience working at an agency, with nonprofits, or with political or issue-based campaigns.
- Basic understanding of long-term lead performance tracking.
- Experience building and executing project plans that support fundraising and communications goals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent quantitative reasoning skills.
- Ability to use data to guide strategic decisions.
