About the Role
This opportunity is designed for a highly experienced Senior Fullstack Software Engineer with strong frontend expertise who can help build and expand a core software platform. The engineer will take a hands-on role in designing and delivering fast, scalable, and intuitive product experiences while contributing across the full technology stack as needed.
The product roadmap includes complex challenges involving artificial intelligence, enterprise-scale workflows, sophisticated integrations, and high-impact customer experiences. This is not a traditional software development position focused solely on completing assigned tickets. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, disciplined coding standards, practical knowledge of design patterns, and an AI-native approach to building software.
The successful candidate will be comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar platforms to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, support testing and debugging, and explore more efficient ways to design and build software.
Team Environment
The engineering team develops the foundation of the product, including scalable systems, flexible architecture, and clean user experiences that support rapid product iteration.
- Deliver meaningful product value quickly through small, functional, and independently shippable releases.
- Collaborate directly with Product, Design, and subject matter experts to reduce ambiguity and prevent unnecessary rework.
- Use AI-assisted development workflows to increase engineering speed without compromising quality.
- Maintain a strong focus on clean architecture, software fundamentals, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Operate in a high-ownership, high-velocity engineering environment.
What You’ll Do
Frontend and Full-Stack Development
- Build high-quality, responsive, and performant product workflows and user experiences using React and Next.js.
- Contribute across a full-stack environment that includes TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL.
- Design scalable frontend architecture using reusable component libraries and established design systems.
- Develop clean, intuitive, and maintainable user interfaces that can scale with the product.
- Take ownership of features throughout the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and technical planning through production deployment.
- Support both frontend and backend development based on product priorities and technical requirements.
AI-Accelerated Development
- Use tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted development platforms to rapidly prototype, develop, and release new functionality.
- Apply AI tools to improve code quality, reduce repetitive boilerplate work, and increase overall development efficiency.
- Use AI-assisted workflows to support debugging, code refactoring, documentation, and automated test generation.
- Help continuously improve the organization’s use of AI to increase engineering velocity and the quality of delivered software.
- Apply sound technical judgment when deciding whether AI-generated code can be trusted or requires additional validation and manual review.
- Use specification-driven development workflows to reduce rework and improve implementation accuracy.
Engineering Excellence
- Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and thoroughly tested production code.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests where appropriate.
- Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, requests for comments, and architectural planning.
- Help establish, document, and improve engineering standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices.
- Maintain strong software development fundamentals while delivering features at a high pace.
- Support continuous improvements to code quality, testing practices, deployment processes, and system reliability.
Collaboration and Ownership
- Partner closely with Product, Design, other engineers, and subject matter experts to define effective technical and product solutions.
- Contribute to solution design rather than simply implementing predefined development tickets.
- Translate complex product and technical challenges into clear, manageable, and independently shippable increments.
- Take responsibility for feature delivery, technical execution, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Communicate technical decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Contribute to an engineering culture centered on accountability, action, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Professional Experience
- Six to ten or more years of professional experience building modern web applications.
- Strong professional expertise with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience contributing to both frontend and backend application development.
- Experience with NestJS is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or another relational database system.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex software features in fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environments.
- Proven ability to define scope, break down complex work, and deliver production-ready functionality.
Frontend Expertise
- Deep understanding of component architecture, reusable UI patterns, component libraries, and design systems.
- Strong knowledge of frontend state management and data-fetching patterns.
- Experience optimizing frontend performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and overall user experience.
- Ability to build intuitive, maintainable, and scalable user interface systems.
- Strong understanding of modern frontend development practices and browser-based application performance.
AI-Native Development
- Hands-on experience using Cursor, Claude Code, or comparable AI-assisted tools as part of a regular software development workflow.
- Understanding of the efficiency benefits provided by specification-driven and AI-assisted development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to increase development speed, improve code quality, and reduce unnecessary rework.
- Strong judgment regarding when AI-generated output can be used directly and when it must be carefully reviewed, tested, or rewritten.
- Ability to incorporate AI tools without weakening engineering standards, maintainability, security, or product quality.
Engineering Fundamentals
- Strong understanding of unit testing, integration testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and code quality practices.
- Experience writing maintainable code using established software design principles and patterns.
- Ability to balance delivery speed with testing, scalability, architecture, and long-term maintainability.
- Experience participating in code reviews and contributing to technical and architectural standards.
Communication and Collaboration
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, engineering teams, and subject matter experts.
- Ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders with different levels of technical knowledge.
- High level of personal ownership, accountability, initiative, and attention to outcomes.
- Bias toward action combined with sound technical judgment and a commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services, including technologies such as AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS, and Amazon SNS.
- Experience developing internal tools, shared platforms, reusable components, or design systems.
- Familiarity with feature-flagging platforms such as Flagsmith.
- Experience with analytics or data platforms such as Snowflake or ThoughtSpot.
- Previous experience working in a high-growth SaaS environment.
