Overview
The Accounting Specialist, Managed Services supports clients with day-to-day accounting activities in a fully remote environment. You will work both independently and as part of a team, handling assigned portions of projects and ensuring high-quality, on-time deliverables. This is a client-facing position that also involves identifying opportunities to support additional services.
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting Support
- Perform daily accounting tasks on behalf of clients using Deltek Costpoint.
- Handle Accounts Payable processing, including invoice review and entry.
- Handle Accounts Receivable processing and basic collections follow-up as needed.
- Prepare and process client invoicing in accordance with established procedures.
- Process timesheets and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
- Communicate with clients to clarify issues, obtain missing information and confirm deliverables.
Performance & Communication
- Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form with clients, team members and management.
- Demonstrate strong listening and comprehension skills and maintain clear, professional communication.
- Keep all impacted stakeholders informed of status, issues and timelines.
- Manage time effectively, adjust to changing priorities and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
- Gather and analyze information to support problem-solving and decision-making.
- Contribute to group problem-solving discussions and offer alternative solutions to complex issues.
- Maintain accuracy and thoroughness in all work with a strong focus on quality.
- Balance individual responsibilities with team goals and collaboration.
- Meet or exceed required billable utilization targets as set by the Manager.
- Record time worked daily in the designated timekeeping system.
Working with Clients
- Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint core and add-on functionality.
- Organize and execute assigned tasks as directed by the Project Team, Senior or Principal Business Application Consultant.
Working within Infotek
- Develop and maintain internal and client-facing documentation, user guides and templates.
- Quickly learn new skills, modules and tools as directed by the Manager.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong self-directed work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and comfort working with data and numbers.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
- Ability to work remotely and travel occasionally, as needed.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 2+ years of experience with Deltek products, especially Deltek Costpoint.
- Experience with Costpoint modules such as:
- Accounts Payable, Billing & Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Projects
