About the Role

This opportunity is for a Junior Full Stack Developer to support the development and maintenance of websites, SaaS applications, and digital products used by internal and external stakeholders. The role combines hands-on full-stack development, technical planning, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with senior developers and cross-functional teams.

The position is well suited for someone who enjoys working across frontend and backend technologies, learning from experienced engineers, solving practical technical problems, and contributing to a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.

What You’ll Do

Develop Full-Stack Websites and Products

• Build and deploy fully functional websites and digital products across both frontend and backend systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that supports a smooth user experience.

Design, Implement, and Maintain Business Websites

• Create, update, and manage enterprise websites across multiple platforms, including a custom in-house CMS, BrightSpot, and Salesforce.
• Help ensure websites remain modern, secure, reliable, and optimized for performance.

Create Technical Documentation

• Write and maintain clear, developer-friendly documentation covering code structures, APIs, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Keep documentation organized and useful for handoffs, collaboration, and ongoing development work.

Use Version Control and Collaborative Development Practices

• Manage code changes using GitHub and follow established version control best practices.
• Create pull requests, participate in code reviews, and maintain organized repositories that support team collaboration.

Support Internal Stakeholders

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve website issues reported by internal stakeholders.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly and close support tickets in a timely manner.

Learn From and Support Senior Developers

• Collaborate with senior developers to strengthen technical skills and apply established engineering best practices.
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Work Across Multiple Projects and Priorities

• Adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and new technical challenges.
• Handle urgent updates, experiment with new tools, and contribute to multiple IT and innovation initiatives as needed.
• Balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining quality and timely execution.

Technical Planning and Feasibility

• Balance upfront technical planning with hands-on development to support efficient project delivery.
• Partner early with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, requirements, and priorities.
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments to identify potential risks, constraints, and dependencies before development begins.
• Create clear solution designs and technical documentation so implementation work is ready for development.
• Reduce ambiguity by aligning stakeholders early and documenting important technical decisions and assumptions.

Qualifications

• Experience with custom PHP full-stack web development.
• Experience with PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with Laravel and Vue is preferred, although relevant experience with other modern PHP and JavaScript frameworks is also acceptable.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Understanding of MVC frameworks.
• Comfort working in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to follow coding standards established by the development team.
• Comfort participating in code reviews, peer programming, and collaborative technical discussions.
• Ability to work in an environment with fast and reliable internet access.
