Position Overview
This full-time, 100% remote Automation Tester position supports a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The role is focused on designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to help ensure the quality, reliability, functionality, and performance of software applications.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in automation testing and hands-on experience with multiple testing tools, frameworks, scripting languages, and quality assurance practices.
What You’ll Do
- Create and implement automated test scripts using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and Jira.
- Analyze requirements and develop detailed test cases and test scenarios for automated testing.
- Execute automated test scripts and analyze results to identify defects, issues, and areas requiring further investigation.
- Perform manual testing and regression testing when needed.
- Report bugs and technical issues to the development team, including detailed information and clear steps to reproduce identified problems.
- Collaborate closely with developers and other team members to support seamless software integration and testing.
- Stay current with automation testing tools, technologies, and techniques and apply appropriate improvements to testing processes.
- Maintain and update documentation for test cases, test plans, and test results.
- Conduct performance testing to confirm that software meets established performance criteria and benchmarks.
- Participate in and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate end-to-end business workflows.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a technical field, or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional automation testing experience.
- Proficiency with automation testing tools and technologies such as Cypress, Playwright, Jira, and Jenkins.
- Proficiency with scripting and programming languages such as Java and Python.
- Proficiency with SQL.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience working in SAFe or Agile environments.
- Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other government agencies.
- Ability to obtain government clearance.
