About the Role

The Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for analyzing requirements, planning and executing manual software testing, identifying and troubleshooting defects, reproducing reported bugs, and verifying fixes throughout the software development lifecycle. The role develops structured test cases, test scenarios, test plans, and testing approaches to evaluate product functionality and robustness while maintaining clear and repeatable defect documentation.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, a meticulous approach to testing and troubleshooting, and a strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies. The successful candidate will also work with QA engineers to expand automated test coverage based on business priorities and product risks.

What You'll Do

• Analyze user stories and requirements and translate them into effective test cases and test scenarios.
• Create structured test plans and testing approaches for software features and functionality.
• Investigate technical problems and document defects with clear, detailed, and repeatable bug reports.
• Reproduce bugs reported by the support team to help identify and validate product issues.
• Verify resolved defects and close bug tickets after confirming that fixes meet expected requirements.
• Prioritize test cases and plan test execution based on testing needs, business priorities, and product risks.
• Conduct exploratory testing to evaluate product functionality, reliability, and robustness.
• Work with QA engineers to increase automated test coverage for features based on business priorities and risk.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and organization throughout testing, troubleshooting, and defect-management activities.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• 5+ years of professional Quality Assurance experience.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably using modern software testing methodologies.
• Ability to analyze requirements and develop test cases, test scenarios, test plans, and structured testing approaches.
• Experience executing manual testing and conducting exploratory testing of software products.
• Ability to investigate technical issues, reproduce bugs, troubleshoot problems, and create detailed and repeatable defect reports.
• Meticulous approach to software testing, defect verification, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of bug tracking software.
• Knowledge of test management tools such as Azure Test Plans, TestRail, or similar products.
