About the Role
The People Operations Coordinator provides operational HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, with responsibilities spanning onboarding and offboarding, payroll coordination, benefits, HR systems and employee data, compliance, workforce reporting, and employee engagement. The position supports consistent people processes while maintaining accurate records and helping deliver an effective employee experience.
This role requires strong HRIS and payroll systems experience, careful management of confidential employee information, and the ability to independently coordinate multiple priorities in a remote, technology-enabled environment. The position also serves as a first point of contact for routine employee questions related to policies, procedures, people programs, leave, and benefits.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, including document collection, background checks, right-to-work verification, and system provisioning, while escalating employment-specific questions to the HR Manager.
- Coordinate with the payroll team to process employee changes, including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, people programs, leave, and benefits, resolving routine matters and escalating complex cases when appropriate.
- Support compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Support people reporting and workforce analytics by compiling employee data, generating reports, and responding to information requests.
- Draft and maintain HR documentation, process guides, and internal employee communications.
- Assist with cyclical people programs, including performance review cycles, employee engagement surveys, and compliance training.
- Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives designed to promote a positive and inclusive employee experience.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination, HR administration, or a similar role.
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems, including demonstrated experience maintaining accurate employee data.
- Direct experience supporting an hourly, distributed, or field-based workforce.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with appropriate discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, technology-enabled environment.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems, including HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and workflow tools.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Airtable.
