About the Role

This opportunity is for a Senior Frontend Engineer responsible for developing intuitive, visually polished, and high-performance web interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Redux. The position focuses on translating product designs into production-ready frontend experiences, improving usability, and establishing maintainable frontend architecture for a growing financial technology platform.

The role involves close collaboration with designers and engineers to define product features, implement user interfaces, review code and designs, and establish frontend engineering standards. The successful candidate will contribute directly to development while providing technical guidance to other engineers. The work supports a premium banking and travel rewards experience, with an emphasis on making complex credit card rewards and financial services functionality intuitive and accessible to users.

What You'll Do

• Translate designs from the design team into functional, visually refined, and user-friendly web interfaces using React.
• Develop and maintain frontend functionality for a web portal supporting banking services, travel rewards, and credit card rewards experiences.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to scope product features, evaluate implementation approaches, and contribute to product direction.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain software quality, frontend architecture standards, and consistent user experiences.
• Write clear, maintainable, well-architected frontend code, including appropriate tests and technical documentation.
• Define and establish frontend architecture standards, engineering patterns, and coding practices that can be adopted by other engineers as the platform scales.
• Make direct technical contributions across the codebase while providing guidance and technical support to other team members.
• Help deliver sleek, intuitive web experiences that simplify complex travel rewards and credit card functionality for users.
• Contribute to foundational frontend engineering work and support technical decisions that influence the platform's continued development.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building production-grade software using React, TypeScript, and Redux.
• Demonstrated experience developing visually polished user interfaces with a strong emphasis on high-quality user experience and usability.
• Experience interacting with databases through direct SQL queries and APIs.

Required Skills

• Strong practical ability to develop and maintain production-ready frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and Redux.
• Ability to translate product designs into functional, aesthetically refined, and intuitive web interfaces.
• Understanding of frontend software architecture and the ability to produce clear, maintainable, and well-structured code.
• Ability to write tests and technical documentation that support code quality and long-term maintainability.
• Ability to collaborate with designers and engineers on feature scoping, product direction, and technical implementation.
• Ability to participate effectively in code and design reviews and contribute to frontend architecture decisions.
• Practical experience working with SQL, databases, and APIs in software development.
• Ability to contribute directly to engineering work while providing technical guidance to fellow developers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional software engineering experience at a startup or major technology company.
• Experience leading engineering teams and establishing software design standards, architectural patterns, and coding conventions.
• Experience with Django, Python, Expo Go, and PostgreSQL (Postgres).
• Experience developing software in heavily regulated industries, particularly financial services.
• Interest in travel, travel rewards programs, credit card rewards, and rewards optimization.
• Comfort contributing across different parts of a codebase as needed.
• Interest in building foundational technology within a rapidly growing startup environment.
• Motivation to contribute to technical and strategic direction while working with a growing engineering team.
