About the Role
This Graphic Designer position focuses on creating and producing high-quality visual materials for patient education, client communications, reports, presentations, and newsletters. The role requires strong expertise in typography, layout design, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency across print and digital deliverables. Responsibilities span the complete design production process, from interpreting structured creative briefs to preparing polished, accessible materials for publication and distribution.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign, Figma, and Canva, along with the ability to work within established design systems and brand governance standards. The position supports healthcare-related communications, including patient-facing educational resources and client-facing materials, while maintaining accessibility, plain-language, and quality-control requirements. The designer also maintains and improves existing brand guidelines and production standards as the library of materials and communication channels expands.
What You'll Do
Production- Design and produce patient-facing educational materials, including handouts, flyers, and one-pagers, following established accessibility and plain-language standards.
- Create and format client-facing materials, including quarterly and annual reports, presentation decks, and other communication assets.
- Take ownership of the design and production of presentations intended for patients and clients, ensuring clear visual communication and consistent formatting.
- Manage the complete design and production process for recurring patient and client newsletters, including page layout, visual hierarchy, and coordination with content owners.
- Translate structured intake tickets and creative briefs submitted by clinicians and other stakeholders into finished design deliverables.
- Identify incomplete or ambiguous design requests and seek clarification from the original requester before proceeding with production.
- Develop and refine graphic design materials using strong typography, composition, layout, and visual hierarchy principles.
- Maintain a consistent visual presentation across print collateral, digital documents, newsletters, reports, and presentation materials.
- Apply independent design judgment when interpreting creative briefs and selecting appropriate visual solutions.
- Use AI tools selectively for idea generation, early concepts, and initial drafts when they provide practical value to the design process.
- Determine when manual design work is more appropriate than AI-assisted workflows, rather than relying on AI as the default starting point.
- Maintain and evolve established brand style guides, print collateral governance standards, and documented design requirements.
- Manage and refine the existing "say/don't say" language guide to support consistency in external-facing communications.
- Extend brand governance documentation as new material types, design formats, and communication channels are introduced.
- Review every external-facing design deliverable against the established pre-publish audit checklist before release.
- Maintain and improve the pre-publish audit checklist as design requirements and production workflows evolve.
- Ensure consistent typography, visual identity, and brand execution across all produced materials.
