Senior Software Engineer

Pay: $150,000 - $170,000/year

Position summary

This role is for a senior full-stack engineer building user-facing frontend experiences and backend services for a nutrition-focused healthcare platform. The work centers on scalable web applications, APIs, data handling, and cross-functional collaboration to improve product quality and user experience.

What you'll work on

• Design and implement robust, scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Work with UX/UI designers to build interactive, accessible, and responsive frontend interfaces using modern web technologies.
• Define and maintain development practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.
• Partner with the product team to understand user requirements, define use cases, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Debug and fix issues across frontend and backend systems.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and security across both layers.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and propose ways to apply them in current and future development.

Experience and qualifications

• 6+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in React.js and TypeScript for production frontend applications, plus strong backend experience in Node.js for services and APIs.
• Strong RESTful API design and integration skills, including clean versioned API contracts, authentication and authorization, and reliable use of third-party APIs.
• Deep database knowledge across relational and non-relational systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Working familiarity with core AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes or a similar environment.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
