About the Role
A Salesforce Business Analyst is needed to support client-facing Salesforce projects by connecting business requirements with practical technical solutions. This position focuses on facilitating stakeholder discovery, analyzing and documenting requirements, developing actionable user stories, and maintaining accurate project documentation throughout delivery. The analyst will help ensure that Salesforce configuration, automation, and integration work is clearly defined, organized, and ready for development and testing.
The role requires hands-on Salesforce administration knowledge, familiarity with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, and experience translating discussions with non-technical stakeholders into developer-ready specifications. Responsibilities span discovery sessions, requirements documentation, backlog management, cross-functional coordination, and UAT support. Strong organizational discipline and precise written communication are essential for managing multiple client workstreams and keeping business and technical teams aligned.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prepare, and facilitate discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with client stakeholders, developing agendas, asking targeted questions, and establishing clear session outcomes.
- Record and synthesize stakeholder discussions in real time, documenting business decisions, unresolved questions, action items, and follow-up requirements.
- Prepare accurate, structured meeting summaries and distribute documentation promptly to keep stakeholders informed and project activities moving forward.
- Translate business needs into detailed Salesforce user stories and acceptance criteria using Given/When/Then formatting, providing sufficient clarity for developers to implement and QA teams to validate solutions.
- Document functional requirements for Salesforce configuration, workflow automation, and integration activities, ensuring alignment between business expectations and technical implementation.
- Act as the primary connection between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, clarifying requirements, communicating decisions, and maintaining agreement on solution expectations.
- Maintain organized, current project documentation in Confluence, Jira backlogs, and related project artifacts, ensuring information remains accessible, accurate, and useful throughout delivery.
- Manage assigned tickets and documentation across multiple workstreams, tracking outstanding requirements, action items, and delivery dependencies.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scripts, coordinating business testers, documenting defects, and tracking issues through resolution.
- Identify potential scope risks, unresolved requirements, and project dependencies early, escalating concerns with appropriate context and supporting details.
- Contribute to improvements in internal delivery processes, documentation practices, and knowledge sharing across the consulting team.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 2–5 years of professional experience as a Salesforce Business Analyst, preferably supporting consulting engagements or systems integration projects.
- 1–2 years of hands-on Salesforce Administrator experience. Practical platform administration knowledge is a mandatory requirement.
- At least 1 year of consulting experience.
- Demonstrated experience preparing, facilitating, and documenting discovery and requirements sessions involving non-technical business stakeholders.
- Proven experience producing actionable user stories and structured acceptance criteria that development and QA teams can use without additional clarification.
- Experience managing documentation, requirements, and assigned work across multiple concurrent project workstreams.
Required Skills
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, including platform objects, relationships, configuration capabilities, and the impact of configuration decisions on end users.
- Ability to gather, analyze, synthesize, and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for Salesforce configuration, automation, and integration work.
- Strong discovery facilitation skills, including agenda preparation, stakeholder questioning, requirements clarification, and documentation of session outcomes.
- Ability to write detailed Salesforce user stories and testable acceptance criteria using the Given/When/Then methodology.
- Excellent real-time note-taking and information synthesis skills, with the ability to turn complex stakeholder discussions into reliable meeting summaries, decision records, open-question logs, and action items.
- Proficiency with Jira and/or Confluence, or equivalent tools for requirements tracking, backlog organization, and project documentation.
- Strong document management and organizational skills, including proactive backlog maintenance, tracking of outstanding items, and consistent documentation across workstreams.
- Clear, precise written communication skills for preparing technical tickets, discovery notes, functional requirements, and project documentation.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with business stakeholders, Salesforce developers, and QA personnel while maintaining clarity around agreed requirements and implementation expectations.
- Ability to recognize and communicate scope risks, project dependencies, and unresolved questions before they affect delivery.
Education & Certifications
- Salesforce Administrator Certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud or Salesforce projects involving healthcare clients.
- Familiarity with Salesforce organization migration or consolidation initiatives.
- Exposure to Salesforce integration-related business analysis, including API-based integrations, middleware, and electronic health record systems such as EHR/Epic.
- Salesforce Business Analyst Certification.
- Experience developing or contributing to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts and supporting structured testing cycles.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, the successful candidate will understand the relevant client environment and contribute actively to at least one engagement. Expected contributions include facilitating or co-facilitating discovery sessions, producing accurate meeting documentation, writing actionable user stories, and independently managing assigned tickets.
Within six months, business stakeholders should be able to rely on the analyst's documentation as a consistent reference, developers should have sufficiently detailed requirements to minimize clarification requests, and Confluence documentation should serve as an authoritative source of project information. The position also offers exposure to complex enterprise Salesforce implementations, healthcare-related projects, and potential professional development toward senior business analysis, project management, or solution architecture.
