About the Role
A fully remote Designer opportunity is available for a professional experienced in creating intuitive digital interfaces, responsive websites, interactive dashboards, and compelling data visualizations. The position focuses on transforming complex AI research and quantitative information into accessible digital experiences, clear visual explanations, and engaging design solutions. Responsibilities span user interface design, visual communication, prototyping, and maintaining consistency across digital products and research materials.
The role accommodates two areas of specialization: product and web design, including information architecture, user flows, responsive layouts, and design systems; or data visualization, including charts, interactive graphs, and visual storytelling for reports, dashboards, and social media. The Designer works with researchers, engineers, communications professionals, and an established design team, reporting to the Head of Design. Strong Figma proficiency, visual design fundamentals, and experience designing interactive digital products are essential.
What You'll Do
- Design responsive user interfaces, digital products, interactive dashboards, graphs, and data visualizations that present complex information clearly.
- Develop visual design solutions that address user needs and organizational requirements while improving clarity, usability, and consistency.
- Create design specifications, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to explore and communicate design concepts.
- Apply established design systems, reusable components, typography, color, and layout principles to maintain visual consistency across products and materials.
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and communications professionals to develop and deliver design projects from initial concepts through implementation.
- Translate quantitative research findings into accessible charts, interactive graphs, dashboards, and visual explanations for non-expert audiences.
- Contribute to the design of digital research tools and interfaces that make complex AI-related information easier to explore and understand.
- Depending on specialization, develop information architecture, user flows, responsive web experiences, and improvements to shared design systems.
- For data visualization projects, create clear visual presentations of evidence for research reports, interactive dashboards, and social media content.
- Support the development and improvement of shared design libraries, with opportunities to participate in user research and usability testing.
