Senior DevOps Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $170,000 - $180,000 annually, based on experience and geographic market
This opportunity is for a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support a fast-paced, mission-driven Healthcare SaaS environment. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud-native platforms operating in a regulated environment.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position responsible for building and automating modern infrastructure, strengthening CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code at scale, and driving Site Reliability Engineering best practices across highly available healthcare systems.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Design and implement multi-region, fault-tolerant architectures supporting 24/7 SaaS operations
- Lead Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar tools
- Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, or comparable platforms
- Automate repeatable processes, deployments, and operational workflows to reduce risk and manual effort
- Integrate automated testing frameworks into deployment pipelines
- Drive SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, SLA management, and proactive reliability improvements
- Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or New Relic
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
- Embed DevSecOps practices into infrastructure and CI/CD workflows
- Collaborate with security teams to maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, NIST, and CIS frameworks
- Manage identity and access controls, secret stores, certificate management, and vulnerability remediation
- Design and maintain cloud networking components including VPCs, firewalls, WAFs, VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Security, QA, Product, and Data teams to improve automation, performance, and compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture discussions and design reviews
Qualifications
- 6–10+ years of DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering experience in production SaaS environments
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (required) and familiarity with Azure and GCP
- Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Strong proficiency designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including VPC design, DNS, load balancing, and cloud security controls
- Experience working in regulated industries, preferably Healthcare
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, cloud security practices, and zero-trust architecture
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Cloud Functions
- Experience supporting multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic architectures
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD, Azure Architect, or GCP Professional Cloud Engineer
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks including HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and NIST CSF
