About the Role
This opportunity is for a Data Scientist who will use statistics, programming, modeling, and domain knowledge to build analytics products, predictive models, tools, and data-driven solutions. The role involves working with complex and sometimes imperfect data, supporting client-focused projects, and delivering accurate analytical work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
The position is suited for someone who can think creatively, communicate clearly, and turn challenging analytical problems into practical insights, models, and visualizations.
What You’ll Do
- Execute the design, implementation, and delivery of analytics products and services.
- Build predictive models, analytical tools, and data visualizations.
- Ensure that data and modeling results meet quality requirements.
- Clean, transform, aggregate, and report on data as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, program managers, and external stakeholders to troubleshoot problems and create proactive solutions.
- Support research development projects and data science project plans for client and internal initiatives.
- Document processes and promote new analytical approaches to support team excellence.
- Work as part of a team to deliver accurate products under short deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working in a quantitative production environment, or a postgraduate degree in a quantitative field.
- Experience applying statistics and modeling concepts, including distributions, parameter estimation, confidence intervals, and statistical tests.
- Ability to apply statistical knowledge in individual work and guide others when needed.
- Strong understanding of a statistical programming language such as R or Python.
- Experience building predictive models using regression and machine learning techniques.
- Ability to manipulate data using SQL.
- Proven experience creating analytics output within a production-oriented team.
- Ability to communicate and present technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference.
- Experience creating and delivering informative, engaging data visualizations using leading industry tools.
- Experience using data-driven solutions to improve social outcomes is preferred.
- Ability to work with imperfect data while knowing when quality or reliability concerns require escalation.
- Comfort thinking strategically, analyzing complex problems, and considering the needs of end users and stakeholders.
