About the Role
This role focuses on owning the design of a critical product area where complex financial, reporting, compliance, and workflow management processes come together in a single platform.
You will lead end-to-end product design efforts, transforming sophisticated data models, cross-functional workflows, and compliance-driven requirements into intuitive user experiences that help organizations operate more effectively and make informed decisions.
The position combines product thinking, systems design, user research, and visual design to solve challenging problems involving financial tracking, reporting, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with product and engineering partners, you will help shape product direction, influence strategic decisions, and drive the delivery of high-quality experiences from discovery through launch and continuous improvement.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $160,000 - $205,000 per year plus equity
What You'll Do
Product Design & Ownership
- Lead end-to-end design for a major product area, from discovery and user research through launch, measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Design intuitive experiences for complex financial data, including budget tracking, actual spending analysis, variance monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Create workflows that support collaboration across multiple stakeholders and departments.
- Define and shape entirely new product experiences within emerging and evolving product areas.
- Drive strategic design decisions that improve usability, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
AI & Systems Thinking
- Design AI-powered experiences that automate manual work and improve compliance processes.
- Apply systems thinking to highly complex, data-dense environments involving multiple entities, workflows, and user types.
- Transform complicated business processes into intuitive and scalable user experiences.
- Utilize AI tools throughout the design process for prototyping, ideation, iteration, and product development.
- Explore innovative ways AI can enhance both user experiences and internal design workflows.
Design Quality & Collaboration
- Contribute to and elevate the organization’s design system, design standards, and overall product quality.
- Advocate for user needs while balancing business goals and technical considerations.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to align priorities and execution.
- Conduct independent user research and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
- Identify patterns, opportunities, and pain points that influence product direction and design decisions.
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams through effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional product design experience.
- At least 2 years of experience operating at a senior product design level.
- Proven success owning complex B2B or enterprise product areas from concept through delivery.
- Deep expertise designing data-heavy interfaces, dashboards, reporting systems, tracking tools, or similar products.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma, including user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and design systems.
- Experience partnering closely with software engineers in a fast-moving product environment.
- Active use of AI tools as part of a modern product design workflow.
- Strong systems-thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to simplify highly complex workflows and information structures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing products for nonprofit organizations or mission-driven sectors.
- Background working with financial software, accounting systems, compliance workflows, or reporting platforms.
- Experience contributing to or managing design systems.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Understanding of front-end development concepts, including HTML and CSS.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other designers.
- Strong understanding of enterprise workflows and complex business applications.
