Role overview
You’ll support warehouse and construction inventory operations by receiving, storing, issuing, reconciling, and delivering materials used by installation and field construction teams.
What you’ll do
- Pack and unpack items for stocking in warehouses, stockrooms, storage yards, or supply areas.
- Store inventory in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Receive and count stock items and record data manually or in computer systems.
- Inspect stock items for wear, defects, or damage and report issues to supervisors.
- Label and mark stock items using tags, stamps, marking tools, or other equipment.
- Compare physical stock counts against inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
- Issue and distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies based on requisitions.
- Prepare and maintain records for inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods issued.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas.
- Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors.
- Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock.
- Support other warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard workers as needed.
- Prepare items for use by adjusting, repairing, or assembling them when needed.
- Coordinate with engineering, purchasing teams, and vendors regarding stock needs and availability.
- Purchase or prepare documents for new or additional stock as needed.
- Drive to pick up and deliver materials to the warehouse, job sites, or other locations using a non-CDL flatbed or box truck.
- Secure materials safely on flatbeds using straps and chains.
What you’ll need
- Ability to meet background requirements.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Ability to show judgment, initiative, and strategic thinking.
- Knowledge of safely securing materials with straps and chains.
Physical and work environment
- Ability to lift 75 pounds or more through a full range of motion.
- Use proper safety equipment throughout the workday.
- Identify safety hazards to help prevent accidents.
- Warehouse work may include inclement weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when needed.
