Material handler

Employment type: Full-time

Pay: $20/hour

Schedule: Night shift, 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM

Role overview

You’ll support material handling and production operations by assembling materials, labeling and packing finished goods, tracking production, moving completed products, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

What you’ll do

• Read routing information and complete work assigned by the department supervisor.
• Sew, cut, clip, hook, or otherwise assemble materials into sub-assemblies or finished products.
• Attach proper labels and tags to products and packages.
• Pack finished goods into the correct packages and boxes.
• Track production on schedule boards.
• Notify the supervisor of mechanical or material issues.
• Place finished goods on designated pallets.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior lumber experience desired.
• Engineered lumber experience preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.
• Basic math and analytical skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Self-starter work style with ability to take initiative.
