About the Role
This opportunity is for a People Operations Manager to run day-to-day people operations for a globally distributed team of approximately 135 employees across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, and other locations. The role owns employee lifecycle operations, HR systems, benefits administration, multi-country compliance, EOR coordination, people data, reporting, and operational automation.
This position is heavily focused on accurate execution in Justworks and Deel, with most transaction volume in the United States and more complex international employment work across multiple countries. The role partners directly with the VP of People and carries real ownership over how People Operations processes, systems, documentation, and data infrastructure are built and improved.
What You'll Do
Employee lifecycle operations- Own new hire setup end to end in Justworks, including onboarding records, tax setup, benefits enrollment, and systems access.
- Own employee exits end to end, including termination processing, final pay, benefits continuation, equity coordination with Finance, and access removal.
- Process every employee change with clean documentation, including compensation, title, level, manager, location, and employment status updates.
- Manage employment documentation, contracts, amendments, and letters across United States and international entities.
- Serve as first-line support for employee questions related to pay, benefits, leave, time off, and policy.
- Maintain and improve the People Operations knowledge base and process documentation.
- Own the people compliance calendar across each operating country, including filings, registrations, statutory deadlines, and annual returns.
- Run the operational relationship with EOR partners, including hires, employee changes, exits, invoicing, and issue resolution.
- Track country-specific employment requirements, including statutory leave, notice periods, probation rules, and termination requirements.
- Escalate country-specific employment and compliance questions to Legal when judgment or interpretation is needed.
- Support new country openings from the operational side in partnership with EOR and legal partners.
- Serve as the operational point of contact for EMEA and APAC employees.
- Keep employee records accurate, complete, and audit-ready across every entity.
- Administer United States and international benefits day to day, including enrollments, changes, terminations, invoicing, and vendor coordination.
- Execute open enrollment from setup and communications through employee support and audit.
- Administer leaves of absence in coordination with the PEO, EOR, and Legal.
- Own data integrity in the HR system of record, including audits, permissions, workflows, and integrations.
- Execute consolidation into a single global system of record in partnership with the VP of People on sequencing and implementation.
- Build and maintain recurring people reporting, including headcount, attrition, and organization data used by Finance and leadership.
- Maintain the level, band, and job architecture data behind the leveling and compensation framework so leadership planning data remains reliable.
- Automate manual People Operations work by redesigning spreadsheet- and calendar-based processes with available tools, including AI.
- Use AI in operational work, including drafting documentation and letters, summarizing country policy differences, auditing records against source systems, and creating first-pass reporting.
- Share effective AI prompts, templates, and short walkthroughs with the People team so recurring work becomes faster and more consistent.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 4+ years of experience in people operations.
- Experience in a high-growth software company under 500 people is ideal.
- Direct, hands-on experience running people operations for a multi-country workforce.
- Hands-on multi-country workforce experience must include the United States and United Kingdom.
- Experience with Canada, European Union countries, or APAC is a strong plus.
- Benefits administration experience, including running a PEO or HRIS platform as the system of record.
- Justworks experience is a strong plus.
Required Skills
- Fluency with spreadsheets and HR data for people reporting, data quality, audits, and operational tracking.
- Working fluency with AI tools in day-to-day operational work, including specific examples of processes automated or made faster.
- Strong follow-through, with the ability to own work fully, close loops without being asked, and prevent operational items from falling through.
- Excellent judgment when handling confidential employee, compliance, compensation, and employment information.
- Clear and direct written communication for employee support, process documentation, reporting, policy summaries, letters, and internal templates.
- Ability to work quickly and precisely inside HR systems while leaving behind accurate, trustworthy records.
- Ability to diagnose process issues, identify why systems or records disagree, and recommend durable operational fixes.
- Ability to turn messy or partially defined People Operations projects into clear plans, workflows, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Total rewards exposure, such as compensation cycle administration or benefits renewal support.
- Experience with an HRIS migration or consolidation.
- Familiarity with Deel, Culture Amp, Carta, or Ashby.
- Working knowledge of international employment mechanics, including EOR models, statutory entitlements, and country-level filing obligations.
