About the Role
The Recruiter, Hiring & Talent Operations will manage full-cycle recruiting for mission-driven organizations, taking ownership of searches from initial kickoff through candidate selection, offers, and onboarding. This position involves recruiting across multiple roles and clients, developing pipelines in specialized talent markets, conducting structured screenings, and delivering efficient, consistent hiring processes.
The role partners directly with founders, clients, and hiring managers to define hiring requirements, recommend recruiting approaches, and improve hiring decisions. Responsibilities include proactive sourcing beyond LinkedIn, passive candidate engagement, Ashby applicant tracking system management, and recruiting workflow optimization. Hiring projects may involve specialized fields such as AI safety, biosecurity, and global development, where identifying qualified talent requires targeted research and thoughtful outreach.
What You'll Do
Full-Cycle Recruiting- Own recruiting searches from initial kickoff through offer acceptance and onboarding.
- Manage end-to-end hiring processes across multiple positions and client organizations.
- Conduct structured candidate screening calls to evaluate qualifications and suitability for open positions.
- Guide candidates through each stage of the recruiting process, maintaining clear communication and consistent follow-through.
- Work directly with clients, founders, and hiring managers to understand staffing needs, position requirements, and hiring priorities.
- Advise stakeholders on recruiting approaches, candidate profiles, and evaluation criteria for individual searches.
- Provide informed recommendations that support effective hiring decisions.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients and hiring managers to ensure alignment and continued progress throughout each search.
- Develop targeted candidate pipelines using multiple sourcing channels, including platforms and methods beyond LinkedIn.
- Identify and engage passive candidates through personalized, thoughtful outreach.
- Adapt and refine sourcing strategies based on position requirements, talent availability, and recruitment needs.
- Build pipelines for specialized roles, including positions in niche talent markets.
- Execute structured hiring processes using established workflows, templates, and recruiting best practices.
- Manage candidate communications, interview scheduling, and recruiting coordination with accuracy and efficiency.
- Deliver a consistent, professional candidate experience across all stages of the hiring process.
- Maintain organized recruiting activities and ensure hiring processes progress efficiently from start to finish.
- Configure and manage recruiting pipelines in Ashby, the primary applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Set up and maintain candidate stages, recruiting workflows, and templates within the ATS.
- Maintain accurate, structured recruiting data and ensure established processes are followed consistently.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency through better systems, tools, and workflow management.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of recruiting workflows, templates, and operational playbooks.
- Identify ways to make recruiting processes more efficient, repeatable, and scalable.
- Apply technology and automation, including AI-enabled tools, to reduce manual work and improve hiring operations.
- Provide occasional support for broader People Operations or client operational projects based on business needs and individual interests.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including direct ownership of end-to-end candidate searches.
- Experience recruiting in growing organizations and operating effectively in environments with ambiguity or evolving priorities.
- Experience working directly with hiring managers and providing informed recommendations that help shape hiring decisions.
- Strong experience identifying candidates and developing talent pipelines through sourcing channels beyond LinkedIn.
- Hands-on experience using Ashby or an equivalent applicant tracking system (ATS).
Required Skills
- Ability to independently manage recruiting searches from initial planning through candidate evaluation, offers, and onboarding.
- Strong candidate sourcing capabilities, including targeted talent research, passive candidate identification, and personalized outreach.
- Ability to assess hiring requirements, develop candidate profiles, and advise hiring managers on recruiting approaches.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, recruiting pipeline management, and structured hiring workflows.
- Ability to identify opportunities to use technology, including AI tools, to automate manual tasks and improve recruiting processes.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with reliable follow-through on recruiting commitments.
