About the Role
This opportunity is for a Data Scientist focused on developing, improving, and deploying machine learning models for healthcare data analytics and AI-powered applications. The role involves building classification and information extraction models, analyzing complex healthcare datasets, improving existing model performance, and developing new machine learning solutions.
The position requires strong Python and SQL skills, practical experience building ML solutions, and collaboration with engineering teams to deploy models into production and develop ML pipelines. The work also involves exploring natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and emerging AI technologies to improve existing analytical capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Design and build machine learning models for classification and information extraction tasks.
- Analyze complex healthcare datasets to develop new features and improve existing machine learning models.
- Implement solutions that improve the accuracy and performance of existing models.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy machine learning models into production environments.
- Develop and improve ML pipelines that support production model workflows.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging machine learning and natural language processing technologies into existing models.
- Explore large language model solutions and assess opportunities to integrate LLM capabilities into AI models.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 1–3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.
- Demonstrated experience developing machine learning solutions and applying AI technologies to solve practical problems.
- Proven ability to use emerging AI technologies to address technical and analytical challenges.
Required Skills
- Strong Python programming skills for machine learning development and data analysis.
- Strong SQL proficiency, including experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
- Practical ability to build and improve machine learning models for classification, information extraction, and related analytical applications.
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and stay current with developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Strong interest in emerging AI technologies and their practical applications.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
Education
- Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP).
- Experience working with large language models (LLMs).
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and workflows.
- Experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL) processing.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Previous experience working in SaaS companies or healthcare environments.
- Experience with healthcare data.
- Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement or risk adjustment.
